Telemedical was founded in 1996 to provide independent and worldwide radiological opinion utilising the latest developments in communications technology. Telemedical is based in the famous and historic port city of Southampton UK. Southampton is home to a distinguished University and also to one of the largest teaching hospitals in Europe. The consulting radiologists and superintendent radiographer of Telemedical are based within the University Hospital. - Based in this area with a long nautical history, our association with the great cruise liner fleets providing radiological support via satellite link to ships anywhere in the the world could not be more appropriate Maritime radiography is a very specialised and complex subject requiring detailed initial and ongoing training for ships medical and nursing staff. Cruise ship operators and other commercial organisations encounter difficulties in complying with radiation protection regulations. These difficulties have been compounded by recent European legislation embodied in IR(ME)R. Telemedical has unique experience and expertise in the field of training in the technical aspects of radiography and radiation safety in the maritime environment
